What is the Benefits and How to Use BitLocker Drive Encryption in Windows 7 with Images


In computer and laptops we have a lot of data in form of files, videos, pictures etc. Many a company’s give laptops to their employees for work. They carry the laptop with them self and have sensitive data of company and firm. If this type of data (personal & Company data) leaked or in access of some others it damage a lot to a person.

Many people forgot there laptops on airports in taxi etc. And some others laptop or pcs hard disk were stolen. In this case your data in other hands. For this type of difficulty Microsoft introduce a new feature in windows 7.


Here I can explain how this feature helps you. It’s called BitLocker drive Encryption. By using this your data is inaccessible. 

This feature can lock your hard drive and you can must give a password to access your data and if someone install new window or other operating system the date will not be readable for him. Means you protect you data completely.  

Now here complete procedure of using this option with images


Open Control panel and Select BitLocker drive encryption.

Adjust you computer settings


Now click on “Turn On BitLocker. Every partition have this option. Turn on this feature on which drive you have sensitive data or if you have only one drive turn on this option on it. I turn on it on drive E

A new window will open I select first option and give it a password. For opening drive.


Enter a Strong Password



Now a new windows will open after completing above step. I choose first option. The recovery key save in my usb drive. Before selecting this option attached your usb drive with computer





When it complete your encryption will starts it takes some time to complete. click here




When encryption complete you need to enter the password which you set before for open the drive. If you forget password then it demands BitLocker Recovery key. So keep it save. You can turn this features off also. It turns off from where you can turn on it.
